Course introduction
This class introduces mathematical and physical principles of special importance when studying bioacoustics. Matlab programming exercises are used to give the students a basic understanding for the logic of the theoretical material as well as of how to solve computational problems themselves. The course consists of a series of introductory lectures followed by programming tutorials leading up to assignments consisting of computational exercises for solving basic bioacoustic problems.
Expected learning outcome
The students obtain ‘hands-on’ experience with theoretical work in bioacoustics as well as using computer programming for problem solving and to conceptualize physical principles.
