Learnings objectives - Knowledge
After completing the course, the student shall be able to
- demonstrate knowledge of different communication theories that are related to and relevant to organisations' communication policies, both internally and externally
- demonstrate knowledge of various relevant genres in traditional and digital media

After completing the course, the student shall be able to
- independently analyse, assess and discuss the correlation between organisations' communication policy and the chosen genres
- be critical in the selection of media, genre and language strategies in relation to a defined situation and recipient group
Learning objectives - Competences
- use his/her knowledge of the correlation between the communication policy and the chosen genres to prepare well-written and linguistically adequate texts, both written and oral
- on a methodological basis present constructively formulated professional criticism, including linguistic review, and perform evaluation of the communication
Content
Forms of instruction and work
Teaching is organised in such a way as to support the humanities model for active learning and activating teaching, cf. section Didactic, pedagogical basis and contact to research environment in the curriculum. The teacher must inform students about how study activities are organised on commencement of teaching.
The activities in the course are primarily aimed at achieving learning objectives and preparing students for the form of examination portfolio.

The examination is conducted by the hand in of a port folio.
At the end of the semester the student hands in 3 out of 4 given assignments, as part of a port folio. The teacher may during the semester ask the student to revise the assignments part of the port folio.
1 grade is given, which represents an average of the grades for the portfolio assignments delivered.

Considering the method of assessment and the current study level, specific emphasis will be put on the extent to which the student’s performance meets the learning objectives as well as to what extent the student masters the general competency objectives, particularly no. 3-5, 9, 10 and 12-13 that the course pays special attention to. The grade will be awarded according to the extent of the fulfilment of the learning objectives as described in the grading announcement.
