Mandatory prerequisites
Basic linear algebra.
It is not possible to follow this course, if you have signed up for or have passed T540021101 (RB-ROB5) or T540018101 (RB-RCA5).
Recommended prerequisites
Learning objectives - Knowledge
- Path planning for robots etc.
- Modelling of robot tasks (i.e. handling or surface treatment)
- Robot vision systems
- Commercially available robots and their primary application areas
- Research problems with in methods and algorithms for robot technology
- State-of the-art methods and algorithms for selected problems
- Reaseach activities of the institute within above mentioned areas
Learning objectives - Skills
- Test one or more of the methods on simplified problems
Learning objectives - Competences
- Develop applications for path planning for mobile robots and feature extraction in 2D
- Handling uncertainty in the real using for instance Kalman filters

Please note that due to the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic it has been decided that this course will only be offered if physical presence on campus is possible; otherwise it will be cancelled.
Please note that registration for this course is binding.
Enrolment is limited to 10 students. If more applicants than places, applicants who meet the mandatory requirements are prioritised according to the below selection criteria:
- Engineering students from BSc Robot Systems Engineering who need this specific summer course in order to graduate
- Engineering students from BEng Robot Systems Engineering who have not registered for or passed RB-ROB5
- Other students from SDU-TEK provided the course is approved as an elective on their study programmes
- Other students from SDU provided the course is approved as an elective on their study programmes
- Other students from SDU-TEK with preapproval of credit transfer
- Other students from SDU with preapproval of credit transfer
Note: If further selection criteria are needed this will be based on a first-come-first-served basis.
This course is identical to RB-ROB5 and to the robotics part of RB-RCA5. It is not possible for students from BEng in Robot Systems to follow this course, if they have already registered for RB-ROB5.
