Content
From a technological perspective, the metaverse is expected to include and integrate many contemporary emerging technologies, such as VR, AR, MR, digital twin, AI, hardware and robot technology.
In this course we will explore concepts of metaverse and develop metaverse experience prototypes. The prototypes will combine various self-chosen emerging technologies.
Students will in groups design and develop prototypes addressing problem domains such as healthcare, game development or educational technology such as STEM education and simulation-based training.
Students are expected to document their project work by authoring an academic paper that outlines their methodology, development, findings, and reflections.
Recommended prerequisites
Courses in: Virtual and Augmented Reality; Hardware and robot technology; Web programming, Game AI in practice; Game programming.
