Course introduction
The course aims to provide principles and competencies that enable the master's student to apply their academic knowledge in designing high school mathematics instruction that is mathematically well-founded, coherent, and perspective-enhancing.
Expected learning outcome
To achieve the course's purpose, the learning objective is for the student to demonstrate the ability to:
- Analyze a mathematical topic to define its scope, uncover subject-specific connections and prerequisites, and highlight key mathematical points.
- Apply principles of strategic planning regarding the use of digital and non-digital tools.
- Perform logical unpacking and devolution of mathematical results for learning purposes.
- Critically evaluate (others') instructional materials (textbooks, problem collections, etc.) from a mathematical perspective.
- Design questions and assignments based on the above principles.
Content
Subject-didactic analysis, analysis of functionalities in mathematical software, a priori and a posteriori mathematical insights regarding task design.
